NEW AND ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF DISTRIBUTION METHODS AND CREATION

                                                          Hitsquad Music software
                                                        http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/

Hitsquad is a software for musicians with about 7000 downloads, discussion forums, musician news and amp and many many more.

Hitsquad http://www.hitsquad.com/best-music-production-software/ is known to be the best software for making music, making the process of music a little easier and letting people take advantage.

Task 2:
I'm really not sure how music will be purchased five years from now but I can certainly say the technology is still advancing.

I reckon music will consume  and still can still purchase through programmes such as Spotify, Pandora  etc etc.

I don't think there will be vinyls...not so sure but yehs I think it will continue with the new social music services and possibly new ones will be introduced pretty soon.

MUSIC SCENES, ONLINE SPACE AND PLACE

Certain influential music styles have associations and links with particular places – can you think of any?

Grunge was first used to describe the Seattle sound by Green River and Mudhoney vocalist Mark Arm in the 80's!
Grunge took place in Seattle 1986-96.

Sub pop, was founded by Bruce Pravitt and Jonathan Poneman in 1986, it was modelled earlier with regional independents such as Motown. Key early acts were given away by Mudhoney, Soundgarden with the distinctive sound, while Charles Peterson's photographs documented the first gigs and gave the scene as defined aesthetic.

The strange spinoff for example Cameron Crowes romantic comedy singles, released in 1992 starring Matt Dillion as a Grunge musician singing 'Touch me, I'm Dick' a version of Mudhoneys best-known song. The band feature members of the real Seattle grunge.

Do you think place and locality are no longer relevant in the contemporary, globalized music industry we now operate in?

I reckon, its no longer relevant...obviously people would know where the style of music originally came from, for example Hip Hop. Its obvious that this praticular style is American and yet many countries are heavily influenced by it. It wouldn't really matter as many countires are heavily influenced by different countries and would claim it as their own for example Reggae took place in jamaica, but it wouldn't matter as countries for example Samoa, Cook Islands and New Zealand are heavily influenced by this style and would claim it as their own, but we all know that Reggae is originally from Jamaica.

How are space and place manifested within particular styles?

All places have their own appearance of style , for example clubs such as RnB & Hip Hop would wear casual party urban wear, while another club plays house techno music, casual wear. Rock is also another major style that stands out in events.

Remixing

What do you think of remixing as a music form? Does it lack the creativity of a songwriter-authored composition?

Remixing is experimenting with the music in so many different ways, I was listening to Mr.Mister remix. The dance beat really adds more of a funky upbeat tempo, as the song sounds more interesting, not so slow with an emptyness to it according to how the original is played. Remixing music is used for so many different reasons, but for this song I believe remixing is used for the right reasons unless if misused in different ways such as parodys.

Benjamin's age of Mechanical Reproduction :

For Benjamin, art must just not be evaluated in terms of it's depiction of the social reality of class antagonisms ( as Lukacs suggeste) Art must also be analysed in terms of it's technique, in terms of it's position within the literary production realtions of a given era.

This paragraph in Benjamin's age of mechanical Reproduction, in my opinion talks about art being transformed in new ways, how art has changed over time with it's development and reproduction! for example photography, film used as example in the readings.

I believe benjamin is talking about real art, the authentic side of it!

Death of the Author:

The article on wikipedia I found hard to understand as it totally reminds me of philosophy!
Barthes brags about writing that is space? saying all identity is lost?...saying no one can state what they write or anything else? then he goes on about text..it must seem relevant to the blog although I find it hard to understand?

Facebook/Yotube/Twitter

I am always online Twitter and Facebook for all different reasons...it can be music or non music related.
Facebook is a great social networking site, keeping up with musicians and updates with bands and artists, family and friends. I believe you find out everything on Facebook if you can't catch up with updates on whats happening in the world when it comes to television and other multimedia platforms.
Facebook has become a big addiction to me which is a load of waste of having to see everyday life stories of people..when really I have better things to do and worry about then to stay on there!

My Twitter account was made for the purpose of my studies for Masterclass Performance 1 2010...it turns out, Twitter made a way for me to communicate with other musicians in other countries after discovering their music on  youtube for RnB/Hip Hop Beats. Twitter is a great way in communicating with musicians who like to keep in contact on there.
Recently I was thinking of collaborating with a talented 17 yr old producer in Germany, I loved his beats and wanted to use one of his tracks for my originals, giving him alot of credit for it, not long a rapper from North London got in contact on Twitter and wanted my own feedback on his music, which was a great honor for me, he later discovered my music page and became a fan as I support his music he did the same for me.

My youtube account is not quite known to the public just yet as only one of my audition videos I did for The Voice '11' is the most viewed video out of the rest, and is my favourite.

I couldn't think of a music synchronisation over the recent years in relation to an artist. So I'm gonna use madonna as an example:

Madonna signed with pepsi cola in a tv commercial for them with her hit song 'like a prayer' the agreement was that pepsi had to financially sponsor madonnas next world tour. Madonna used the commercial to launch the song like a prayer single globally before its actual release! creating promotion for the single  and album to come.

3 Key Blogs

1. Electrotrash:
http://electrorash.com/

Helps to promote a wide range of music and artists and the intention has always been to support the artists and their artists and their labels rather than posting illegal or unwanted content. Always looking for new music and encourage artists fans to send them new stuff.  This is said to be important as it ests up[ the ethos of the blog which is inclusive and an aggregate of community interests and relationships. It is said to be the antithesis of the old-timey record label, preaching form on high as to what we should buy/listen to.

2. A reminder:
http://www.a-reminder.org/music/

An important blog that demonstrates how blogs have broken down traditional barriers in the music industry commentary. The blog and the blogger were initially based in Sydney. When the blogger returned to his native Canada, the blog continued to flourish. A music journalist from the pre-blog era could have had no chance of retaining efficiency or relevance from the other side of the world.

3. Whotthehell.net:
http://whothehell.net/

Developed in order to document and archive the progress of australian music. This is also because it highlights the cooperative processes that blogs enable. In a sense, every music fan of the cooperative processes that blogs enable. In a sense every music fan of day gone was only documenting and archiving the progress of music in a very limited way: by taking photos, chatting with friends, and buying albums and merch. But now anyone with a connection can get online and contribute through a blog like this.

'AUS MUSIC BLOG'

I notice with the aussie blogs they are written in delivering compelling informative content as well as the instinctive voice whereas for a review blog you are the person in charge of the blog and people would give their opinion...I think?? if I'm correct with music blogs?

When I had a look at whotthehell.net I noticed the images first which got my complete attention then the soundtrack afterwards with the video clip. They have links to Facebook, soundcloud etc, etc

the site seems like its in the form of myspace?

Audience can engage in this blog through submitting their own music, liking the page in facebook, commenting about the sound tracks on the site.

I reckon they should change the layout..it looks too much like myspace!

I wouldn't mind if if my music was reviewed in whotthehell.

I don't know what to say about the last question but yehs....

Going over the blog and what needs to be worked on.
I've made alot of changes as I've removed the video tab which didn't help much, added a blog roll, couldn't add a subscription tab, connecting to other social networks and other australian music industry blogs.

FACEBOOK:

I use Facebook out of all social networking sites, I use Facebook to connect with other muscians and family members as well as friends.

Facebook is good for communication but also bad as it can really become a bad addiction, when you are distracted by your friends on chatline, videos, games, photos with your friends, updated statuses that grabs alot of attention as well as Facebook groups! its too CRAZY!!!

Its also a great way of communicating with other musicians around the world who hear about you and your music.

I have a music page http://www.facebook.com/LeitinaMusic Just made it recently this year and still need to work on it! A lot of people noticed me with my audition for the the voice on youtube 2011 and one of the top female artists of the month of march 2011 on Star Central Magazine through start connect.

I was asked to make a fan music page as people like to hear my voice! I'm still updating alot of new things for my music page and will definitely have a few tracks from my EP shown on there next yr!

What really stands out on my music page is my music...I'm not really worried about identity but its the music that people wanna hear!

READERS POINT OF VIEW:

The blog shows a big interest to the reader in helping to find a  great venue to for gigs.
It also gives details of how to get in contact and how to get there.

Some of the venues listed share a pretty big history in the past and also featured famous musicians who have performed there.

This is way for musicians and people who are unknown to the venues listed and would like to check it out, including artists I've supported at those events.

I've been to different gigs with different genres, which gives the reader an interest on what styles are appropriate for the venue.

IDEAS: MY POINT OF VIEW:

Similar to the Readers point of view,  I wanted to add a video page so that people can check out the venues and the artists I supported, I had the artists page where people can check out the artists and their music and want to check them out one day at one of their gigs, the venue tab is the most popular one in this blog as people can check out the venues, then theres the contact page where they can hear more about me and my music and the about section finishing with the readings and h/w tasks tab. I also forgot theres an image page to of the venues and people attending or performing!

My blog is way different to Wordpress, as I'm trying to work my way around it. I'm already following blogs that relate to performance venues. It may not say RSS feeds but evidently showing updates under the sub heading LIVE MUSIC BLOG.

The heading of the blog is 'The Venue Life' it's all about performance venues around Melbourne I visit that would interest musicians in wanting to do gigs at those venues suitable to their style of music.

The blog mainly focused on performance venues around the city areas, but I've changed it to ALL around melbourne venues, cause I not only attend gigs in the city but also outside of it too.

 IDEAS:

I had already started a blog on blog spot, which is this blog! I couldn't be bothered starting one on WordPress, even though I already had an account, I still had trouble using the WordPress site, I've had it since 2010 and noticed their were upgrades but I just left it as it is and decided to stick to this account and expand further on this account about performance venues around Melbourne.
